Remembrance Parade

The weeks leading up to and the parade in Bournemouth Gardens leading to the Act of Remembrance are prominent events on the Bournemouth School CCF Calendar.

Senior cadets in liaison with the Royal British Legion run the poppy appeal in Sainsbury’s Castlepoint on the two weekends prior to Remembrance Sunday and the Saturday of Remembrance weekend itself.  This year has proved to be especially successful and Warrant Officer (RN) Morgan Evans and her team have set a new record for the amount collected over this period, even to the fact that they sold every single poppy, badge and wristband they had.

The Remembrance parade itself was extremely well attended with over 160 Cadets from the school parading our CCF Colours through the town. The Bournemouth Council parade was led off by our amazing band, marshalled superbly by Drum Major Dan Andrew. The cadets were extremely well turned out and the drill was impeccable. Able Seaman James Bailey and Sargent Elliot Day were both readers and Wo2 (TSM) Alex Hudson laid a wreath on behalf of the Combined Cadet Forces.
