Academy Admissions

Bournemouth School is an Academy and the governing body is responsible for setting the Admissions Policy.

The Admissions Policy is updated annually, following consultation with other local admissions authorities.

The Admissions Policy for September 2018 was referred to the Office of the Schools Adjudicator which determined that the policy should be revised so that the catchment area was not defined by the borough boundary.  A revised policy was published in July and a consultation process undertaken, which ended on the 25th August 2017.  The Governing Body considered all responses to the consultation, made any amendments they felt necessary and have now determined the policy which will affect all students applying for a place at the School from September 2018.  The policy may be viewed by accessing the link below.

Consultation on Admission Arrangements for entry to Bournemouth School in September 2019

As required by the Department for Education's School Admissions Code, Bournemouth School is undertaking a consultation on proposed changes to our admission arrangements.  This consultation will run between 10th November 2017 and closing on  22nd December 2017.

Your views on any aspect of the school's admission arrangements will be sent to the governing body for consideration.
