At Bournemouth School
- We always strive to do our best
- We celebrate achievement
- We work together
- We make the most of our opportunities
- We have responsibilities as well as rights
All members of Bournemouth School are expected to act with courtesy and consideration to others at all times.
This means being punctual and arriving at lessons properly equipped. During the lessons all are expected to be attentive, co-operative and orderly. Movement about the school should be quiet and mannerly, being always mindful of the needs and safety of others.
Courtesy towards staff and visitors should be shown in movement around the school, and classes should stand when a visitor or the Headmaster enters the classroom. The same standards are expected at assembly or when participating in any school event, as well as when travelling to and from school. Students cycling to school should do so with care.
A student’s appearance should reflect the pride in being a member of the Bournemouth School community. Uniform must always be worn smartly.
Bullying and verbal abuse are never acceptable.
The school buildings, grounds and property should be treated with respect. This means putting litter into bins and taking no action that makes the school environment less pleasant. The same respect must be shown towards the personal property of others.
Nothing should be brought to school that is harmful or offensive either to yourself or to others. This includes tobacco, alcohol or any illegal substances. The school has a responsibility to its community and will always consult with the police when any action by a student may be illegal.
Our community’s ethos is based upon the traditional values of:
- Hard work
- Smart Appearance
