Year 7 - Entry September 2023

Miss K Thorne - Head of YearKET

I would like to welcome each and every one of you to the Bournemouth School community.  I am looking forward to supporting and working closely with you all as your child starts their exciting journey with us through secondary school.  We are very fortunate to have a fantastic set of tutors in Year 7 who are also our House Leaders.  They will encourage your child to arrive with a ‘can do’ attitude and make the most of the huge range of opportunities that awaits them, both within and outside of the classroom.  I am sure that all of your children will play a full and active role in our outstanding community.

As a Head of Year, I have high expectations of the students both academically and in their behaviour.  Of equal importance to me, however, is that all students are happy, healthy and enjoying school, in order that they can achieve the successes of which they are all capable.

On this page you will find links to many aspects of our school life.  Please refer to this information as it will answer many of your questions.  Be assured that we are committed to securing your son’s smooth transition to secondary school.  Should you need to contact us over the next few weeks, you should do so through Mrs Walker, Admissions Officer, either by email (admissions@bournemouth-school.org) or through school reception.

The start of Year 7 will be an exciting time for all of us and I am confident that your child will settle into new routines quickly.  New friends, new teachers and new opportunities will be awaiting them!  I look forward to meeting you all in the near future.

Miss K Thorne
