Outstanding GCSE results

Students at Bournemouth School are celebrating some outstanding GCSE results, with three students achieving a “clean sweep” of grade 9s in all subjects studied.  In all, 63 students attained 6 or more grade 9s, with 60% of all entries graded 9-7. 66% of the cohort achieved at least 5 grade 7s, with 98% achieving at least 5 grade 5s. 96% of students achieved grade 5 or above in both English and mathematics.  Students sat an average of 10.7 subjects and achieved an average points score of 6.73. The Attainment 8 score was 72.2 (slightly higher than that achieved in 2019).

Headmaster, Dr Dorian Lewis, commented: “All of our students should be congratulated on making it through an incredibly tough last two years and showing remarkable resilience. There were some excellent results - a testament to the hard work of our students, the efforts of their teachers, and the support of their families.”
