Michael's biography:
After studying French & Linguistics at Oxford, I joined Procter & Gamble’s graduate programme in 1998, which took me to Geneva in 2004. Having risen through the ranks to become a Senior Marketing Director there, I left in 2015 to become the first Director of Marketing at the Ecole Internationale de Genève, the world’s oldest international school. In 2023 I left the school to set up a marketing and communications agency which specialises in schools and education.
What was best about Michael's time at Bournemouth School?
I loved everything about the school, apart from PE! Looking back one realises how lucky we were to have such an incredible team of teachers, and great opportunities to learn in an environment where being academic was encouraged and rewarded.
Who does Michael remember most fondly?
There were so many amazing teachers: the ones that stand out: David Spencer, Paul Beardshaw, John Hawkins, Laura Fisher, Robert Hill, Nick McCabe, David Hilliam, Nigel Oates, Geoff Elmer, Stephanie Towler, BJ Sanders, John Hubbard, June Head, Hugh (“Jock”) Davidson…the list is almost endless
What would Michael change about their time at Bournemouth School?
Honestly, nothing.
What is Michael's favourite anecdote/most vivid memory?
John Hawkins demonstrating how molecules bounced around in Chemistry, which inevitably ended with him pulling on his braces and his trousers falling down.
One to one Latin classes with David Spencer (I was the only A Level student).
RE Lessons with Paul Beardshaw.
