This week has been exciting for careers education across the school, with students in Years 10 and 12 benefiting from a range of engaging and informative sessions designed to broaden their understanding of future pathways.
On Wednesday afternoon, our Year 12 students took part in enrichment sessions led by the University of Reading and Sunseeker. The University of Reading delivered an excellent introduction to studying Business Studies, alongside useful insights into wider university life, the application process and the bursaries available to support students. Sunseeker, one of our major local employers, shared details of the 40 apprenticeships they are offering this year across a wide range of sectors. Students also heard about upcoming work experience opportunities connected to the companyโs highly regarded training programmes.
Fridayโs Personal Development session saw our Year 10 students hear from Joanne Small from the Dorset and Somerset School Support Programme. Her talk, Understanding Apprenticeships and T Levels, provided a clear and engaging overview of alternative post-16 routes and highlighted the growing number of high-quality local apprenticeship opportunities.
If you are able to support our careers programme by offering a work experience placement or delivering a careers talk, we would be delighted to hear from you. Please register your interest with the school.
