Last week, Bournemouth School was delighted to welcome back alumnus Archer Brook. Archie was a student at Bournemouth School between 2016-2023 and since leaving, he has begun hisย “modular” flight training journey to become a pilot. Archie spoke to our students from across the school of the various options available via a lunchtime talk in our Lecture Theatre.
Through an enlightening PowerPoint presentation, Archie walked our students through the three main routes into becoming a pilot: the modular route, the integrated route and via the military. Archie has chosen the modular route which involves a more independent, learn-as-you-go path involving different stages and schools, as well as at home learning etc. and our students were delighted to have the opportunity to ask him questions and hear first-hand experience of the various options available.
Bournemouth School would like to offer a huge thank you to Archie for giving his time to come into school and speak to our students, especially during a busy time for him with upcoming flight exams.
We are lucky enough to have further alumni coming in for discussions regarding entering into the career of flight, including a “Speak to a Pilot Talk” with Jonathan Miller on Tuesday 30thย June. All students across the years are welcome to attend.
