Harry's biography:
After being born in Poole and living there for 2 years, my family decided to move to the New Forest. I spent 14 years of my life in living there, braving the early morning and late evening commute to Bournemouth School for the last 4 years of those via train and bus. I then relocated back to Poole for the final 18 months of lower school, and my 2 years of sixth form. After having obtained my A levels, I ventured north to the University of St Andrews to pursue a career in medicine. I’m writing this as a third-year medical student who is soon to leave St Andrews and progress to the University of Edinburgh to complete my medical training. After qualifying, I’m keen to become a surgeon.
What was best about Harry's time at Bournemouth School?
Making memories and friends that’ll last a lifetime, whilst being in an environment fit for learning. There were many things in particular to draw from, but going to the Old Bournemouthians’ dinner with my fellow senior prefects stood out for me.
Who does Harry remember most fondly?
I have fond memories of those who taught me during my A levels: Mrs Crowe (Biology), Mr Oliver and Mrs Sedgley (Chemistry) and Mrs Sugden (Psychology). I’ve also made plenty of friends for life: Oliver Hancock, Will Pegram, Andrew Foster, Kobe Roberts, Harry Day, James Griffin, Dylan McRobb, Leon Griffin, Katie Atfield and many more!
What would Harry change about their time at Bournemouth School?
The pandemic robbing us of half of year 10 and the whole of year 11!
What is Harry's favourite anecdote/most vivid memory?
Waiting apprehensively for the results of the senior prefect application process to be announced in assembly, and being met with amazing news of becoming Deputy School Captain!
