Toby's biography:

Performer and composer based in London. Founder and CEO of Good Yarns Productions that provides bands for private and corporate events. I am also founding members of Blue Goose and Danger Goat, bands that perform original music around the UK. Multi-award winning composer and have been a guest lecturer at Trinity Laban Conservatoire.

What was best about Toby's time at Bournemouth School?

The sense of community and lifelong friendships, away days on the football team coach, giving up lunch times to rehearse in brass band, being encouraged to use the music computer room that allowed me to develop professional skills I use daily.

Who does Toby remember most fondly?

All the music teachers, particularly Mr. Herbison. I wouldn’t be a musician if it wasn’t for that man. Mrs. Whitehead, Mr. Ruffer, Mrs. Kanan and the late, great peri-brass teacher Mr. Hayes. Mr. Cook was a legend and I’m sure is missed dearly. Mr. Robjohns, Mr. Viney and Mr. Pardy were extremely encouraging.

What would Toby change about their time at Bournemouth School?

The haircuts!

What is Toby's favourite anecdote/most vivid memory?

The Year 8 (2010) County Cup football final: 3-0 down at half time and going on to win on penalties. Also you probably won’t hear many school concerts as good as the brass festival that Mr. Herbison organized that featured members of the BSO and local legend Tony Waller.
