Luke's biography:

I attended the University of Kent, obtaining my undergraduate degree in Forensic Science, followed by a Computer Science postgraduate degree. Whilst at the university I was part of the Officer Training Corps and the UKC Handball squad. After finishing my master’s degree I joined a graduate scheme in London for IT, working for the UK’s national research and education network. Now I specialise in innovation, developing the network infrastructure, edtech tools, and processes that UK education and research rely on.

Travelling has also been a huge highlight since leaving school. Driving from Bournemouth to Montenegro was a great adventure, as was learning to surf in Portugal, and rocking out to metal bands in the U.S.

What was best about Luke's time at Bournemouth School?

Being a part of the Bournemouth School CCF was an absolute highlight. This gave me so many opportunities such as multiple flying experiences, travelling to Germany and the Netherlands, parachuting, representing the school in competitions, and the multiple summer camps attended.

Who does Luke remember most fondly?

Ethan Townsend (Student), Jake O’Neil (Student), Mr Graham (Staff, CCF), Mr Bishopp (Staff, CCF)

What would Luke change about their time at Bournemouth School?

I would have like to be more involved in school sports.

What is Luke's favourite anecdote/most vivid memory?

I remember being in our tutor room over lunch times planning with my group for our DofE gold expedition trips to Dartmoor! All of us gathered around over maps of the area, filling in route templates, and debating the best, and importantly, most fun route we could take for the journey.
