After school I couldn’t decide on what I wanted to do so spent years saving money working at Tesco and then spending it hiking the Appalachian trail in America.
In 2013 I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, started volunteering at Dorset Army Cadet Force and started working at Openreach, all within the space of 3 weeks! I’ve been doing all 3 ever since.
I’m now a specialist technical engineer in Openreach dealing with faults, network health and problem jobs.
I’m married with 2 boys and loving life.
What was best about Jonathan's time at Bournemouth School?
Cadets. I got a huge amount out of it. My involvement in cadet signals helped me get my job in Openreach and I’ve been helping with the CCC or Army Cadet Force ever since as a cadet force adult volunteer.
Who does Jonathan remember most fondly?
Mr Bonds was my first form tutor and one of my favourites.
What would Jonathan change about their time at Bournemouth School?
Should probably have studied for my A levels.

“Er, yes you are”
Nice to see I was leaving an impression
The next parents’ evening
“Jonathan used to be one of my star pupils, now he’s just bone idle!”
