Physics residential summer school

Following a rigorous testing and selection process, we are delighted to announce that Year 12 student Jack has successfully secured a place on a Physics residential summer school at University of Cambridge, Churchill College, and the Cavendish Laboratory.

Jack has informed us that there were two stages regarding the testing process. The first stage was on the Isaac science website with a collection of 20 challenging questions which ranged from calculus to mechanics. There was no time limit for these questions, so Jack was able to work through them at his own pace before the deadline. Many of these questions includes topics completely new to him so he had to do his own reading to answer them. Jack needed at least 75% correct on the two modules to move onto stage two.

The second stage was a collection of three questions with three parts each, lasting 45 minutes. The questions were on electricity, waves, and mechanics. With only 50 spaces available, Jack secured his place on the residential this summer.

Congratulations, Jack!
