At 11.00am this morning, along with the rest of the nation, Bournemouth School fell silent for two minutes, as we honoured those who gave their lives for our freedom. Remembrance Day is especially poignant for members of our school community, as we particularly remember former pupils of Bournemouth School who have served around the world and made the ultimate sacrifice.
A garden of hand-made poppies was laid outside the main entrance this morning, and services of Remembrance were held in the main hall from 10.30am. A representation of Bournemouth School’s CCF contingent played a part in the service, and were also central to the town’s Remembrance Sunday parade in Bournemouth town centre on Sunday, 10 November. The school orchestra played some memorable pieces and helped students to focus their minds as they reflected on their predecessors’ legacy.
